A look underground
Beneath the meadow lies a tunnel system with four gem ores that do not grow back. A first look below.
Four rock outcrops lead down into a tunnel system: a cavern hall deep beneath the meadow, a junction room where the southern passage splits in two, and a pit in the floor of the hall.
Four gem ores
Down there lie ruby, sapphire, emerald and lonsdaleite. Unlike wood, stone and crystal on the surface, they do not grow back: what lies on the map is the entire supply for the whole match.
The way down
The ordinary pickaxe will not get you far. You need the crystal pickaxe, and its rack only releases it once your own forge is standing. A hero carries at most six gems, so whoever digs below has to head back up more often.
